Commission for the celebration of the 100th anniversary of Nestlé in Portugal in 2023
[English version below] A criação desta obra nasceu de um desafio da Nestlé Portugal: combinar a minha paixão pela pintura com a minha experiência enquanto colaborador para celebrar os 100 Anos da Empresa em Portugal.
Nela encontramos os cinzentos que dão vida ao icónico N, os azuis que destacam a honrosa centena e os contrastes de vermelhos e verdes simbolizando Portugal.
Os vermelhos declinam-se pelos laranjas até aos amarelos brilhantes do Sol que faz crescer os ingredientes dos produtos da Nestlé.
Um olhar atento revela dois conjuntos de figuras em variantes de rosa e ocre, os Consumidores numa evocação de Maternidade e Confiança, e os Colaboradores numa evocação de Dedicação e Engenho.
A riqueza pictórica e cromática da obra pretende não só refletir e honrar a riquíssima e distinta história da Nestlé em Portugal, mas também proporcionar ao expectador múltiplas nuances a descobrir em sucessivas observações.
Esta imagem foi originalmente pintada a óleo sobre tela, tendo sido fotografada digitalmente de modo a ser reproduzida sobre porcelana.
This work of art was commissioned by Nestlé Portugal in the form of a challenge: to combine my passion for painting with my experience as an employee, to celebrate the 100 years of the Company in Portugal.
In it we find the grey colors that sparkle the iconic “N”, the blue tones that highlight the worthy centenary and the contrasts of red and green that symbolise Portugal.
The red hues fade into orange and then into bright yellow rays of the Sun that allows the ingredients of Nestlé products to grow.
A close observation reveals two sets of figures in rose and ochre shades, the Company’s Consumers in an evocation of Maternity and Trust and the Employees animated by their Dedication and Ingenuity.
The chromatic and pictorial richness of the image is intended to convey and honour the very rich and distinguished history of Nestlé in Portugal but also to allow the viewer to discover different nuances in different moments of observation.
This work of art was originally painted with oil pigments on canvas before being digitally photographed and subsequently transferred onto a ceramic piece.
